Variable Water Flow Control of Hybrid Geothermal Heat Pump System

نویسندگان

چکیده

Ground heat accumulation caused by imbalanced heating and cooling loads in a building can cause the heat-source temperature to increase as operating age of geothermal pump (GHP) system increases. An alternative improve upon this situation is hybrid GHP system. This study reviews existing research on systems systems, variable water flow (VWF) control, coefficient performance (COP) prediction. Generally, constant control applied circulating provide rate according maximum load. The need for VWF was identified because used mainly source partial rather than entire Previous studies predicting COPs developed prediction models selecting input values based mathematical models, collecting data through multiple measurement points, utilizing from production environments. model be limited field environment, it necessary predict COP using machine learning monitoring data.

Extremum Seeking Control of Hybrid Ground Source Heat Pump System

The Hybrid Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) system features the combination of ground heat exchanger (GHE) and cooling tower for rejecting the cooling load, which enables the use of the renewable resource of geothermal energy while reducing the cost of installation for applications of high cooling demand. However, model based control for efficient operation of the GSHP system can be intricate due...

Scaling in Geothermal Heat Pump Systems

INTRODUCTION Water quality is a frequently overlooked issue in the application of geothermal heat pump (GHP) systems. When considered at all, is often viewed as a problem unique to open loop systems. In residential open loop applications water is supplied directly to the heat pump’s refrigerant-to-water heat exchanger. If the water has a tendency to be scale forming, fouling of the heat exchang...
